The townhouse at 14 Chestnut Street in Beacon Hill dates from 1822, and was renovated in 2010 into three different units, including a triplex for the owner. That unit was listed for rent in early 2014 for $19,000 (and it looks like that's what it, in fact, rented for), while the house as a whole went up for sale for $7,200,000. It was removed from the sales market in December, by which time the price had dropped to $6,895,000, though the triplex is back on the rental market. The 5,000-square-foot, nine-room spread, which includes direct access to a large private roof deck, now wants $24,000 a month. Stay tuned.
