Wednesday's gong-rattling revelation that the more than 13,000-square-foot Colonial at 30 Gerrys Landing Road had traded for a whopping $7,500,000 left a vacuum for priciest home for sale in Cambridge. Along comes 177 Coolidge Street, in the same Mount Auburn Cemetery area, to fill it. The 5,863-square-foot, stucco-exterior mansion with five bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms originally hit the sales market in late April for $4,750,000. The price was chopped mightily just a couple of days ago, but not enough to belt it from No. 1 on the Cambridge market right now. One-seventy-seven Coolidge now wants $4,295,000, meaning the price came down $455,000. The next closest number town is 50 Mount Vernon Street, which recently cut its own price significantly to $3,950,000.
