Did Two Deals Fall Through for a Penthouse in 360 Newbury?

In addition to being particularly capacious, Unit 808 at 360 Newbury Street in Back Bay's western reaches happens to lay in the only Boston building that Frank Gehry designed. The 1,826-square-foot condo itself was sketched out by Boston-based Meichi Peng and its clean airiness is unmistakable, not least because of its 18-foot ceilings. The spread had been asking $1,850,000 at the start of 2015 and then a deal for it looked to be pending at the start of spring. That arrangement apparently fell through because Unit 808 dropped back on the market in May. The 2-BR, 2-BA was then listed for rent at $9,500 a month. Then! That rental listing disappeared as did the sales listing in July. Well... Fast forward to last week, and Unit 808 at 360 Newbury is back on the market through Gibson Sotheby's Warren Residential for that same $1,850,000. Stay tuned.
