Where Does Boston Fit Among U.S. Architectural History?

New, 3 comments

It really got going with Federal and it hasn't stopped: the evolution of Boston architecture over the last two centuries or so. How many of its styles can you find in the above graphic, which comes courtesy of Pop Chart Lab and Mental Floss?

It includes 121 hand-drawn American homes divided into seven primary categories: Colonial, Folk/Vernacular, Romantic, Victorian, Eclectic, Modern, Neo-Eclectic. And within those are several subdivisions, including the already noted styles so prevalent 'round here. Click to enlarge it and have at it.
