The eight-room, 2,226-square-foot townhouse at 145 Appleton Street in the South End dropped back in late June for $2,595,000. It came with all sorts of flourishes including a gas fireplace, a study that could convert into a fourth bedroom and a sizable back deck as well as a commitment from the seller to build out the roof deck before any sale's closing. After barely two months on the market and private showings only, a sale of 145 Appleton has, indeed, closed. In the end, the brick townhouse went for $2,540,000, continuing a trend in Boston's luxury real estate market.
