The 1,907-square-foot Unit B at 40 Montgomery Street in the South End is "architect owned," according to the Coldwell Banker listing. (We wonder where it fits on the city's architectural spectrum.) What's that mean? It means that in the last few years the owners have replaced a number of walls and windows as well as replaced the chimneys with brick. Plus, the interiors in general are clean and sleek (albeit with low ceilings). The triplex penthouse hit the sales market on Tuesday. The 3-BR, 2.5-BA Unit B wants $2,049,000. We'll see what happens.
