And, lo, it came to pass. One of our seven fall trends to watch for in Greater Boston real estate is already manifesting itself: serious work commencing on Vegas mogul Steve Wynn's $1.7B casino-resort planned for 33 acres of Mystic waterfront in Everett.
At 10 a.m. today, "equipment will roll in and workers will begin site preparation and pre-construction activities" at the casino-resort site, according to a release that Wynn blasted on Wednesday. More: "The pre-construction work is starting less than two weeks after Wynn Everett received an important environmental certificate from the state, capping off an exhaustive three-year public process." While the odd lawsuit could fell the massive undertaking, Wynn expects the casino-resort, with its more than 600 hotel rooms, to open in 2018.
