The 116-unit Somerset at 416 Commonwealth Avenue was once one of Boston's more elegant hotels. The Beatles stayed there when in town and Ted Williams had a room during the baseball season (Fenway's nearby). The inn was converted into condos in the early 1980s and many units seem to retain that hotel-like touch. Just check out the photos for No. 305, a combined-unit spread new to the market, and featuring a living room that is more than 38 feet long and illumined by large bay windows. The 2,775-square-foot, 3-BR, 3.5-BA spread also comes with a dining room that can seat 16 and one garaged parking space. Unit 305 at the Somerset wants $3,595,000. It last traded in July 2006 for $1,642,500. Stay tuned.
