Forecaster 121 Making It Rain Pricey Condos in the West End

New, 4 comments

The 80 condos of the under-construction Forecaster 121 at 121 Portland Street in the North End-West End borderlands have hit the region's multiple-listing service, renderings included (sales officially commenced in spring 2015). What'd they tell us? The renderings depict prototypically sleek, modern units ensconced in an amenity-laden building—24/7 concierge, valet parking, private meeting rooms, fitness center—and with a touch of trendy history: The development was carved out of the old Forecaster of Boston Raincoat warehouse. Adaptive reuse, y'all. The most expensive Forecaster 121 for sale right now is a 2-BR, 2-BA on the ninth floor of the 10-floor building (four floors were added to the original warehouse). Unit 904 is 971 square feet and asking $1,250,000, or just under $1,300 per square foot. It comes with parking. Unit 405, the least expensive Forecaster 121 listing right now, does not. It's a 435-square-foot 1-BR, 1-BA; and it's already under contract asking $430,000, or $905 per square foot. In between are listings that run from the $500,000s to just over $1M. Stay tuned.
