Here's What New Construction Looks Like in Harvard Square

New, 1 comment

'Tis not often that a new house joins the property ranks of Cambridge's Harvard Square. The newly listed clapboard Colonial at 29 Grant Street is one such case. The 3-BR, 3-BA, 1,758-square-foot house went up last year under the direction of development firm Hill Harder. It was designed to complement neighboring 27 Grant Street, a house with much older bones (it may date from the 1700s and was moved to its current spot in the 1860s from the Botanic Garden). Twenty-nine Grant is all sleek and airy on the inside, as to be expected, and comes with a one-car driveway that can double as a patio. The house is asking $1,695,000 as of last week. That seems a little modest, right? Only $964 and change a square foot?
