Renovated Charlestown Cape with original post-and-beam ceiling on sale for $899,000

House includes water view from kitchen

The 1,500-square-foot Cape at 48 Allston Street in Charlestown sold in November 2011 for $205,000 and then was custom-renovated.

The work left behind three bedrooms, two full baths, and two half-baths as well as touches such as a gas fireplace in the main bedroom and a finished lower level with a wet bar. That lower level, too, includes the property’s original post-and-beam ceiling from the 1890s.

Atlantic Coast Homes has listed the house for $899,000. What a difference a redo makes.
