The 24-room, eight-fireplace estate at 150 Woodland Road in Brookline will very likely end 2016 as the most expensive listing in all of Greater Boston.
There’s nothing asking even close to its $90,000,000 tag, which first dropped in late September. The most expensive listing in Boston proper right now, for instance, is $20,000,000; and the most expensive in Cambridge, for that matter, is $10,500,000
The estate covers nearly 14 acres amid both the Brookline Country Club and Putterham Meadows Golf Course. It includes a 26,623-square-foot main house clad in Indiana limestone.
Shope Reno Wharton designed the whole colonial-style affair in 2000 for Paul Fireman, the principal founder of Reebok and now a force in private equity. Fireman and wife Phyllis are the sellers. Coldwell Banker has the listing.
