Opulent Charlestown Victorian drops for fourth time since 2008

Townhouse has not traded since 2000

The 3,958-square-foot Victorian at 31 High Street just up from the Bunker Hill monument in Charlestown has been on and off the market since early 2008. It last sold two recessions ago in early 2000 for $925,000 (that’s about $1.3M in today’s money).

The ornate townhouse, which dates from around 1863 and includes six fireplaces as well as at least four bedrooms, is on sale once again. It is asking $2,750,000. That is quite a bit less than its last asking of $2,950,000 when it dropped in August, but a lot more than a 2008 tag of $2,100,000. Stay tuned.
