Back Bay Triplex Is Boston's Priciest New Listing of '16 So Far

New, 11 comments

There has been no shortage of titanic listings in Boston in 2016 (nor a shortage of titanic sales). And, yet, Unit 1 at 36 Commonwealth Avenue in Back Bay stands out. For one thing, it happens to be the priciest listing to hit the city's market so far this year. For another, well, it's just gobsmacking, a 3,565-square-foot triplex that is one of only two units in a converted townhouse. The 4-BR, 3.5-BA condo comes complete with a private deck, storage, and two deeded parking spaces. As of Tuesday, Unit 1 is asking $7,995,000 through Gibson Sotheby's Beth Dickerson. That's $2,242.64 per square foot, which almost seems like a steal at this level.
