The 4,096-square-foot townhouse at 17 Cumberland Street in the St. Botolph section of the ever-enviable South End first hit the market through Keller Williams Boston-Metro in very late January for $4,195,000. The 3-BR, 3.5-BA spread includes original woodworking from the 1870s and a library overlooking the parlor (as well as two parking spaces and a back brick patio). The townhouse chopped its tag considerably, though, in early February, down to $3,995,000.
That is where 17 Cumberland remains as the calendar clicks over to March. It last traded at least one recession ago for $1,840,000 in April 2004. Stay tuned.
