The 17-room Colonial at 138 Brattle Street off Harvard Square in Cambridge was basically a unicorn when it dropped on the market in the middle of January through Jeannemarie Conley of Compass. The 4,662-square-foot 5-BR, 4.5-BA was the first house put up for sale along the tony drag since 2013, in fact, and arrived with flourishes such as recently freshly installed central air, parking for five (including two in the garage), and a balcony.
Within six weeks, 138 Brattle was under contract with an asking price of $3,995,000. It closed this past Friday for an even $4,000,000, a huge amount for the People's Republic.
