See Part of a South Boston Gymnasium Reborn as a $769K Luxury Condo

New, 3 comments

Old Gate of Heaven property dates from 1890

Sales at the old gymnasium at the old Gate of Heaven Church in the old Southie have been closing since at least the summer of 2014. Recall that the 126-year-old property was converted, beginning in 2012, into a four-story condo building with 24 units total.

One of those units, No. 201, just traded for $769,000. The 1,048-square-foot spread has two bedrooms and two bathrooms as well as two parking spaces (thanks to a hydraulic lift). Unit 201 was originally listed in early January for $789,000. The $20K price-chop suggests that, yes, Boston homes can very much be had for under their asking prices.
