Most Cambridge homes fly off the shelves, the fast pace of sales contributing to the city's chronic housing shortage. The acre-plus estate at 177 Coolidge Hill near Mount Auburn Cemetery was an exception.
It dropped on the market in late April 2015 for $4,750,000, and its price just kind of slid from there as the 5,863-square-foot, 12-room Colonial awaited a buyer. That buyer has arrived: 177 Coolidge is under contract with a tag of $3,850,000. That's enough to make it the second-priciest Cambridge listing right now, after the newly listed and thoroughly yoga-friendly 44 Walker Street.
The price includes two additional lots, one in the rear and one in the front, that add nearly another acre of land to the spread. Stay tuned for the closing.
