Nearly 60 pianos will pop up on Boston streets beginning Sept. 23, as the "Play Me, I'm Yours" public art project returns to the city. Recall that in the fall of 2013, some 75 pianos dotted Boston and Cambridge, all colorfully decorated and open to anyone who wanted to tickle the ivories a spell.
The locations of the pianos this go-round have not been decided, though the group behind "Play Me, I'm Yours" is accepting donations. Have a spare piano? Hit 'em up. Meanwhile, the group is enlisting community organizations and local artists to decorate the instruments, which will remain out until Oct. 10.
