The 3,653-square-foot, 14-room Victorian at 102 Ocean Street in ever-happening Dorchester's Ashmont Hill area has been on the sales market for more than 48 hours and we're still noticing new things about the 1899 spread. The three fireplaces are particularly intricate and the shapes of some of the rooms have us looking thrice (does the dining room look oval to you?).
Plus, Gibson Sotheby's Don Benoit and Lee Robinson have provided one of the best opening lines for a Boston listing that we've ever encountered: "A sunflower carving at the peak of this Ashmont Hill home with windows reflecting a similar motif create a vibrant presence on picture-perfect Ocean Street." Vibrant. That's the word.
The whole shebang, including a carriage barn out back, is asking $949,000.
