We've known for about two weeks that the 3,565-square-foot 4-BR, 3.5-BA triplex at Commonwealth Avenue and Berkeley Street in super-interesting Back Bay had found a buyer while asking a stonking $7,995,000. We've also known for a while that the buyer of the spread is General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt. His firm is famously relocating its headquarters from Connecticut to Fort Point.
It would appear that Immelt got a deal on the triplex, which includes a private deck and two deeded parking spaces. It closed Monday for $7,500,000. That's $495,000 off the asking.
