The 2,305-square-foot upper triplex that is Unit 2 at 55 Dwight Street in the ever-happening South End was last on the sales market in 2013. There was a deal pending for it, in fact, at the end of the year, and the listing disappeared. A closing seemed in the offing.
And then. A closing for the 3-BR, 3.5-BA in a townhouse dating from 1890 never came. Now, however, Unit 2 is back on the market as of Tuesday through Compass Massachusetts. It's asking $2,499,000. That is a tad more than the $2,195,000 three years ago.

Why? Because renovations! The triplex has been majorly updated to give it a sleeker, more contemporary look (which seems to be the regnant ethos in Boston renovations). Will it work this go-round? Stay tuned.
