Boston's Most Expensive Home Sale of 2016: 6 Newbury Spread Sells for $11M-Plus

City's priciest trade since September 2015

Unit 3 at 6 Newbury Street in Back Bay has sold for $11,480,000. The total makes it the most expensive Boston home sale of 2016 so far and one of the 10 biggest home sales in the city's modern history. The trade is also the priciest Boston deal since 13 Louisburg Square sold back in September 2015 for $10,800,000.

The 6,100-square-foot, 12-room floor-through has been on the market for a while, and is the product of 2012 redevelopment (a big reason for the dearth of listing photos). Unit 3 includes 80 feet fronting on Newbury Street and direct views of the Public Garden. The 4-BR with three garaged parking spaces had been listed for $12,950,000 through Campion & Co. The buyer was represented by Joshua Golden of Luxury Residential Group.

So, yes, a bit off the top at the end, but still more than enough for the deal to land like a thunderclap.
