Charlestown Townhouse Goes for Six Figures Over Its Asking Price

Five-room spread had been asking $699K

It's not a $1.1M over-ask, but the final tally for 20 Russell Street in central Charlestown is nothing to sneeze at: The 1,284-square-foot, five-room spread dating from 1920 dropped in mid-March for $699,000 through Gibson Sotheby's Adam Geragosian, and it just closed for $812,000. That is a full $113,000 above the original tag.

Twenty Russell has exposures on three sides and at least two bedrooms. There's also fenced-in patio space out back and a small deck. It's altogether a little snug for a townhouse, but it's obviously a generous toehold in the always-interesting neighborhood. At least somebody thought so.
