Massachusetts Turnpike's Electric-Car-Charging Stations: Where to Find Them

First four should go in this fall

MassDOT plans to install six stations along the Massachusetts Turnpike for charging electric cars. The first two stations should be available early this fall at the westbound Framingham and eastbound Natick plazas.

Two more will be added before the winter at the eastbound and westbound Charlton plazas, and the remainder—at the westbound Blandford plaza and either the eastbound Blandford plaza or the eastbound Lee plaza—will be up and sizzling before the end of 2016.

According to MassDOT, the stations can charge a vehicle to 80 percent power in 10 minutes and to 100 percent power in 20 minutes.

Also, per the Herald, these half-dozen stations could be just the tip of the electric iceberg: The state wants at least a dozen total.
