Malden houses right now cost about the same as ones in Roxbury and Roslindale

Boston suburb’s priciest listing cheaper than Brighton’s least expensive, too

The average house price in Malden right now is $262 a square foot, according to a new analysis of market-rate listings from real estate research site NeighborhoodX.

That puts the city of about 60,000 roughly on par with Boston neighborhoods Roxbury, where houses average $262 a foot, and Roslindale, where they average $287. Check out the chart below for more on asking prices in Malden.

Also, according to NeighborhoodX’s Constantine Valhouli, the most expensive house currently listed in Malden is, on a per-square-foot basis, less expensive than the least expensive property listed in Brighton ($394/foot).
