The average asking price of a condo in Malden is $297 a square foot, according to a new analysis of market-rate listings from the real estate research site NeighborhoodX.
That sum means that Malden condos are pretty much on par on average with the least expensive properties in Boston’s Brighton and Jamaica Plain—even if they are well ahead of the average asking for houses in Malden (that’s $262/foot, according to another NeighborhoodX analysis). The Malden average is also slightly below the average for South Boston properties.
The range that produced the $297/foot average runs from $202 a square foot for Unit 1 at 26 Faulkner Street, a 1,700-square-foot 2-BR, 2-BA, to $441 a foot for Unit 22 at 426 Pleasant Street, a 283-square-foot studio asking $125,000.
