Vegas impresario Steve Wynn’s $2B casino-resort on the Mystic waterfront in Everett has been a long, long time coming. Now it looks like construction could start very, very soon on the 3,000,000-square-foot, 24-story gambling hub—as in this week.
One of the project’s main opponents, the City of Somerville, has apparently opted out of asking the state to reconsider its waterfront-construction permit. That is the last hurdle to said construction getting underway (preliminary work has been going on for several months).
Wynn estimates the casino-resort—somewhat incongruously called the Wynn Boston Harbor—will be finished in late 2018. Stay tuned.
