North End penthouse capped with cathedral windows, roof deck

It sold in under a day

The 2,139-square-foot duplex penthouse at 287 Hanover Street in the North End last traded as recently as July 2015, when it went for $1,500,000.

The 3-BR, 2.5-BA is back on the market through Gibson Sotheby’s for $1,750,000.

Or at least it was: Listed on Jan. 26, a deal is pending for Unit 5-2 as of Jan. 27.

The condo was carved from a Victorian Gothic building dating from the 1870s and originally constructed for the Boston Seaman’s Friend Society. It later served as a Protestant church.

Stay tuned for the closing. Meanwhile, enjoy the bonus listing photo of the Dylan circa Blonde on Blonde shower curtain.
