The 1,084-square-foot townhouse at 46 Valentine Street in Cambridge’s Cambridgeport neighborhood was one of about 170 that architects Doug Bell and Gerald Fandetti designed from 1971 to 1983.
Distinctive for features such as levels setting apart rooms rather than walls and a resultant capaciousness, the townhouses (some are deeded as condos) were also considered particularly energy-efficient for the period.
A lot of wood and natural light were also often involved; and sometimes a deck, too.
Forty-six Valentine checks all of those boxes (though the deck is more of a patio). The spread dropped on the market in late November for $749,000 through Re/Max Destiny and is now under contract.
Stay tuned for the close.
