The Boston area is among the 10 likeliest metropolitan areas to land Amazon’s second headquarters, according to an analysis from Moody’s Analytics, a subsidiary of the similarly named ratings agency.
The rankings—which placed the Austin, Texas, area at No. 1 and the Boston region at No. 9, between Portland, Oregon, and Salt Lake City—looked at five criteria: business environment, human capital, cost, quality of life, and transportation.
If the criteria sound familiar, they reflect what Amazon is looking for in a host for its HQ, which is slated to grow to 8 million square feet and host up to 50,000 employees.
