There are several market-rate condos available in the Boston area for under $200,000, according to an analysis from real estate research site NeighborhoodX.
For those new to the area or to the Thunderdome that is the Boston region’s real estate market, $200K is a rather low sum usually discussed in terms of buying a parking space.
But! Hunt in places such as Lynn and Quincy, and one might find decent spreads for under that amount.
Below are the 10 most affordable properties loosely within I-95. They range size-wise from a 375-square-foot studio in Quincy asking $155,000 to a 965-square-foot Winthrop two-bedroom asking $188,000.
“On a per square foot basis, the most expensive is the smallest unit, a 375-square-foot studio in Quincy,” NeighborhoodX research director Constantine Valhouli said over email. “But this is to be expected—smaller units tend to sell for more per square foot than do larger ones in the same building or neighborhood.”
