If Amazon comes to Boston—and the chances are good—the e-commerce giant will likely plunk its headquarters at the old Suffolk Downs race track in the East Boston-Revere borderlands.

If Amazon employees decide to look in the immediate vicinity for houses, here’s the sort of situation they would face: Houses average $412 a square foot in East Boston right now, and $234 a foot in Revere, according to real estate research site NeighborhoodX.

The site analyzed market-rate houses in the Boston neighborhood and the independent city.

There is a caveat to the below charts, per NeighborhoodX research director Constantine Valhouli: “The most expensive property in Revere on a per-square-foot basis is an anomaly. While it is one block from the beach, it is a one-bedroom residence above a three-car garage.

“It may actually be larger than the listed square footage if one includes the garage spaces, which might bring the apparent price per square foot to a more reasonable level.”
