Including in Dot, Hyde Park, Charlestown

It is possible to find a home in Boston proper with an actual wood-burning (read: non-decorative) fireplace for under $500,000—something to think about when plowing through another cold, dreary winter.

Here are 10 for sale right now—including in Dorchester, Hyde Park, the South End, and East Boston—per real estate research site NeighborhoodX. (Above is the priciest on offer: $485,000 for the 664-square-foot Unit 2 at 19 Allston Street in Charlestown. Cozy!)

"Most of these are in the more suburban neighborhoods of Boston, including a cluster in Hyde Park—although a few were in East Boston, Dorchester, and the South End,” NeighborhoodX research director Constantine Valhouli said via email.

Below is a photo of the fireplace in one of the more mid-priced of the 10: A 532-square-foot condo at the South End’s 1750 Washington Street asking $409,000.
