The stretch of Roslindale’s South Street from roughly Guernsey to Walworth streets used to be known as Doctors Row (it still is in some quarters).
That was because the stately houses that went up along that stretch from about 1895 to 1906 were built for, well, doctors.
One of those houses—a 2,214-square-foot, 10-room Colonial at 1021 South Street dating from 1901—is on sale now through David Burd for $719,000. The spread includes the potential for six bedrooms and a large front porch.
Stately, indeed.
