It turns out that public benches in urban areas are deliberately designed to be just comfortable enough, but not too comfortable.
The reason? To prevent loitering and what may come of it.
But that still means that said benches, including in the Boston area, are comfortable to a degree. And that leads us to our latest open thread wherein we turn the mic over to you, dear reader, and ask: Where are the region’s most comfortable public benches?
Can they be found within a particular T stop or bus gazebo? In a certain park or on a certain plaza? Do the benches in the Boston Common or elsewhere provide a surprising amount of lumbar support?
