North End vs. South End prices: How the neighborhoods’ condos compare

One pricier than the other

The average listing price for a market-rate condo in the North End is $963 a square foot vs. $1,132 in the South End, according to a new analysis from real estate research site NeighborhoodX.

The range of current market-rate listings in the North End, meanwhile, is less grandiose than those in the South End. In the North End, condos range from $590 a foot to $1,397. In the South End, they range from $691 to $1,545.

Note, however: The NeighborhoodX analysis treated the waterfront as distinct from the North End proper, except in the case of 343 Commercial Street. If the waterfront prices were included, it’s likely the North End would’ve overtaken its down-city neighbor.
