Developer Federal Realty has released fresh details on the ongoing expansion of its Assembly Row mega-development on the banks of the Mystic in Somerville.
The expansion of the two-time Curbed Cup winner will drive the number of stores there to more than 100 and the number of residences in Assembly Row to more than 1,000.
These condos and apartments can be found in under-construction projects such as the Alloy condo and the newly minted Montaje apartment complex.

More than 20 new restaurants and shops will open this year, beginning in the spring, and the 20-story, 447-unit, bocce-court-containing Montaje will commence leasing around the same time. (Sales have been going on for a while at the 122-unit Alloy.)

The expansion will also include Assembly Row’s first hotel, an Autograph Collection by Marriott; more open space via the so-called Assembly Line Park (the site was once a Ford factory—get it?); and a 250,000-square-foot office building at 100 Foley Street.
A Trader Joe’s is also in the works.
