Dorchester apartment building would add 20 units to Ashmont area

Dorchester-based Connelly Construction Co. wants to erect a 20-unit, five-story building at 1857-1859 Dorchester Avenue in the neighborhood’s Ashmont area.

The complex—which would include a mix 1- and 2-BR apartments ranging from 762 to 1,139 square feet—would be just up the street from the Ashmont T stop. Nevertheless, the complex as planned calls for 24 parking spaces.

The project would replace a parking lot and two commercial buildings, and would also include two ground-floor retail spaces.

It’s early days, so stay tuned for possible tweaks.
