Richard Friedman, chief executive of developer Carpenter & Co., said during a Bloomberg interview that condo sales in his firm’s under-construction One Dalton tower in Back Bay have ranged from $2.5 million to $40 million.
If a unit did trade for $40 million, it would “smash Boston’s existing highest-priced condo sale record by $5 million,” as the Business Journal’s Catherine Carlock points out.
The $35 million record belongs to the 2016 purchase of a 13,000-square-foot penthouse at Millennium Tower—which, interestingly enough, the 740-foot One Dalton will eventually surpass to become Boston’s tallest primarily residential tower.
The status of the One Dalton sales are unknown and deals could yet fall through. Consequently, not much is known about that $40 million sale. Stay tuned.
