What big Boston-area transportation projects need to happen pronto?

You can check off the Green Line extension

Now that the feds are squarely behind the 4.7-mile extension of the Green Line through Somerville into Medford—albeit in a truncated form and on a pushed-back schedule—it’s time to think about what other big-time transportation projects need to happen in the region.

So that’s our Friday Open Thread: What do you think the Boston area needs next in terms of public transit?

Is it the Silver Line to Chelsea? Or maybe the Red Line out to Lexington? Or just a simple way to connect North and South stations? Maybe you’d like a helipad?

Sound off in the comments section below. No idea is too pie-in-the-sky.
