The 1,944-square-foot Colonial at 4 Butler Street in Dorchester hit the market on May 22 through the Galvin Group for $709,000.
A deal for it closed on June 27 for $750,000. That is a full $41,000 over the asking price.
The four-bedroom spread, with one and a half bathrooms and an outdoor shower, dates from 1917, but, of course, has been updated. It had last traded in 2009 for about $427,000 in today’s cabbage.
Since then, 4 Butler has gained a notable neighbor along with that evident value. Who’s the notable? Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, who bought nearby two years ago.
