The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is reviewing multiple allegations of sexual harassment and assault against Steve Wynn, the Las Vegas-based developer of the massive casino-resort in Everett.

The allegations were made in a Wall Street Journal article. Wynn has denied them.

A spokeswoman for the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, the state’s casino and gambling regulator, put out this statement on January 26:

The Commission is now aware of and is taking very seriously the troubling allegations detailed in the Wall Street Journal article. The suitability and integrity of our gaming licensees is of the utmost importance, and ensuring that suitability is an active and ongoing process. Consequently, the MGC’s Investigations and Enforcement Bureau will conduct a regulatory review of this matter to determine the appropriate next steps.

The 3 million-square-foot, $2.4 billion casino-resort, dubbed Wynn Boston Harbor, is under construction.
