Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a weekly column that explores what one can rent or buy for a set dollar amount (or thereabouts) in the Boston area. Is one woman’s studio another woman’s townhouse? Let’s find out! This week, it’s $2,000 a month in rent.
Unit 5 at 9 Bowdoin Street in Beacon Hill is a 450-square-foot studio that is pet-friendly.
In Roslindale, $2,000 a month stretches to cover a three-bedroom, one-bedroom with 1,350 square feet at 4410 Washington Street. Unit 3 there also comes with private outdoor space.
Unit 1 at 20 Manley Street in Dorchester runs to an even 1,000 square feet. It includes two bedrooms and one bathroom—and the rent covers basement storage.
In East Boston, 57 Webster Street’s Unit 1 also runs to 1,000 square feet. It has one bedroom and one bathroom; and the rent covers access to a yard.
We end in the West Roxbury-Hyde Park borderlands, where Unit 102 at 5170 Washington Street is asking $2,000 a month for its 904 square feet, one bedroom, and one bathroom. And there is a balcony. Interestingly, too, the rent covers two garaged parking spaces.
