Newton clapboard colonial near the Mass. Pike on sale for just over $1M

House dating from 1928 includes potential for five bedrooms

The 10-room, 2,620-square-foot clapboard colonial at 24 Hancock Street in Newton’s Auburndale area dates from 1928 and is just off both commuter rail’s Auburndale stop and the Massachusetts Turnpike.

The house has two and a half bathrooms, up to five bedrooms, and a sunroom with its own gas-powered stove.

The location and the scope mean that 24 Hancock does not come cheap: $1,099,000 through Hammond. Thoughts?
