The house at 5 Oliver Street near the Salem Common in uber-historic Salem dates from around 1820. It has not sold since 1998, when it went for about $260,000 in today’s money.
It’s been on the market since June 2017, when the 4,000-square-foot spread was asking $1.2 million. It’s now asking $301,000 less—$899,000 through George Fallon at Tache Real Estate.
Perhaps the obvious need for updates in some parts is holding up a sale. What’d you think?
