East Boston home prices in the summer: Waterside will cost you

Neighborhood averaging $463 a square foot

The average asking price in East Boston as of late June was $463 a square foot, according to an analysis of market-rate listings from real estate research site NeighborhoodX.

A range of $256 a foot to $740 a foot produced this average (see chart below). And, as one might expect, things get pricier the closer one gets to downtown Boston.

“Loosely speaking, the most expensive properties on a per-square-foot basis are in Jeffries Point, just across the water from downtown Boston, while the most affordable properties tend to be at the far outer edge of the neighborhood, adjacent to Revere,” NeighborhoodX research director Constantine Valhouli said over email.
