Boston-based developer MG2 Group wants to replace the 0.17-acre parking lot at 2-10 Maverick Square in East Boston with a 10-story building.
The base of the building would be retail, with residences—either apartments or condos, it’s not clear—on top. As for the building’s design from EMBARC Studio, that would include a zinc-coated copper facade, with layers of brick and curtain wall throughout.

MG2 has yet to file formal plans with the city, but does own the parcel (we’re awaiting a response from the developer too).
If it advances, the project at 2-10 Maverick Square would join a slew of larger- and smaller-scale developments in East Boston and along the Blue Line in general (this particular one is right off the Maverick stop). Of course, the biggest whale for the neighborhood is whether Amazon will or will not land in the old Suffolk Downs site. Stay tuned.
