Ira Rakatansky designed the 3,962-square-foot modern at 62 Hill Street overlooking the Lexington Golf Course in Lexington. The Providence-based Rakatansky, who died in 2014, also designed the house at 58 Hill Road.

The reason? Some friends wanted to live next to each other, according to Bill Janovitz of William Raveis, who has the recent listing for 62 Hill. It’s asking $1,712,000.

The airy, open expanse has four and a half bathrooms and the potential for five bedrooms—including a bedroom and a bathroom on the lower level, which leads right into the two-car garage—which is at the end of a heated driveway.

There’s also an in-ground pool out back. Thoughts?
