Including in Southie, Eastie, Brighton, and downtown

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a weekly column that explores what one can rent or buy for a set dollar amount (or thereabouts) in the Boston area. Is one woman’s studio another woman’s townhouse? Let’s find out! Today, the magic number is $2,500 a month.

In busy, busy East Boston’s Eagle Hill, $2,500 a month rents an entire single-family. The house at 58 Marion Street runs to 1,207 square feet; and it comes with three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms.

Out in Brighton, $2,500 commands a furnished one-bedroom, one-bathroom with garaged parking and a monthly cleaning service. Unit 404 at 147 Kelton Street is 797 square feet.

Unit 3 at 473 East Fifth Street on South Boston’s east side runs to 1,000 square feet and has two bedrooms and one bathroom.

In downtown Boston, next to the Tufts Medical Center, there’s Unit 605 at 888 Washington Street. The one-bedroom, one-bathroom is also close to the Orange Line (square footage not available).

We end in Charlestown, with a 500-square-foot studio at 11 Allston Street. Unit 3 is the product of a recent renovation and comes with its own roof deck.
